ABOUT ME

Thank you for visiting my website and taking the time to learn about me and my vision. My name is Erik, and I am the founder of ClearCut Mental Performance. With over 10 years of experience in coaching and being an athlete, I have learned that training to reach peak physical performance requires parallel training in peak mental performance as well.

I graduated from Missouri Valley College (MVC) with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. After being recruited in 2009, I played three seasons of men's volleyball as a libero at MVC in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes (NAIA). Currently, I am pursuing a Master of Science in Sports and Performance Psychology, as well as obtaining a Mental Performance Mastery Certification. Ultimately, I would like to become a Certified Mental Performance Consultant via the Association of Sports and Performance Psychology.

My experience coaching volleyball extends as far back as 2006 when I coached the junior varsity of my alma mater just before pursuing my educational goals. Prior to transferring to MVC, I was offered a position on the women's volleyball staff at Haskell Indian Nations University as a student coach. I was then hired as a high school head volleyball coach within the Dallas Independent School District after graduating from MVC in 2012. Following my coaching experience in DISD, I took on the opportunity to coach club volleyball in 2014 through USA Volleyball and the North Texas Region, and continue to do so today.
